The history according to us and the elders

Pop up stores have been around for a while. My first "Pop Up" experience was at my grandmothers house right outside, in her front yard, she had a "Pop Up Restaurant" going on during  lunch hour selling magwinya and Hot meals to the locals.

 These days however, these informal sector establishments have been upgraded to fancy and creative spaces that offer a  speciality product for a short period of time.

 The original concept is derived from Japanese consumer culture and its devotion to rare products.Consumers would arrive at a moments notice and purchase available stock which would be sold out within hours,the store would close down and the store would only be functional again when the store owner received new stock.

So where did this grand scheme of spontaneous hustlenomics originate from? 

Well we have pioneers like Go Vacant and many other big brands who have followed in their footsteps to thank for making our retail experiences adventurous and not just one dimensional as they have been in the past.

We are proud to be part of this rising demographic.
